How to Set Up this game

  • To play Solitaire, you’ll need a regular 52-card deck. Remove the jokers from the deck and properly shuffle the remaining cards.
  • Lay out seven face-down cards in a row. We know or call it as the tableau.
  • Place three face-down cards on top of the first card in the tableau. Deal two cards face down on top of the tableau’s second card, and so on. This will result in seven heaps of cards, each with one card face up on top.
  • The stock pile comprises of the leftover cards. Deal three cards from the stock pile face up to the garbage pile.

How to Play

In Solitaire, the goal is to construct four foundation piles, one for each suit (hearts, diamonds, clubs, and spades). From ace to king, the foundation piles follow an ascending order when built.

  • To establish a foundation pile, move a card from the tableau, waste pile, or stock pile to the foundation pile if it is the same suit and one number higher than the top card of the foundation pile. You can, for example, slide a 2 of hearts onto a 3 of hearts.
  • You can move cards within the tableau. To move a card within the tableau, you must move it to a pile that is the opposite color and one number higher than the card being moved. You can, for example, swap a 7 of spades for an 8 of clubs.
  • Players can move only one card at a time, and they can’t move a king to the tableau.
  • If you can’t make any more movements, you can discard three cards from the stock pile. Each turn, you can only draw three cards from the stock pile.

Scoring

Though not all players are in it to earn the most possible points, there is a definitive scoring system in it as mentioned below:

  • 5 points for stock to tableau.
  • 10 points for Tableau to the charity.
  • 5 points for turning over the tableau card.
  • -15 points for returning the foundation to the tableau.
  • Timed games earn 700,000 points per second played, plus 2 points for every 10 seconds played.
